A Bosom Friend, A Really Kindred Spirit

Here is our week (April 4 - 9) in pictures:
(Also there are some videos hidden away, so don't miss them!)
Oh how I love my dearest friend Jessica. She is beautiful and funny and redheaded and weird and holy my goodness I love her. I owe a lot of who I am today to that woman. She's been my best friend for the better part of 8 years now (can you believe it?), and I honestly don't know where I'd be without her. Our daily notes (some of them 10+ pages long) were what kept me sane during high school.

Freckled and tan, tall and short, ginger and blonde. Arm in arm, we ruled the roost at stake youth activities. We became the center of the High Rollers' attention and stole all the good guys. We TPed and swing-danced and inside-joked our way through adolescence. I fell in love and she cheered me on. We clung to each other and cried like babies when she left for college. I joined her the next year as her roommate, and she stuck with me through the darkest days of my life as I spent my first two semesters broken-hearted and confused. She went on a mission, I got married, and here we are now, kindred spirits as ever. Those were the glory days, with Jess at my side. She is indeed my very bosom friend. If every person had a friend like Jess, the world would be a better place.

Guess who joined the family at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday?
This guy.

(More later on how we limped our poor Lucky J all the way to DC, stopping every 15 miles [no, I'm serious] to refill the radiator.)

On Boring Stuff

It seems like all we ever do these days is wait.

Still waiting on a job.

Still wondering where we'll end up.

Still waiting to find a car.

Also, I am sick again. For the third time in four weeks. This time it is a hack-your-lungs-up kind of disease. What ever happened to that immune system I used to pride myself on? I'd like to blame the nursery kids, except that I've had this calling since last fall and my sickliness is a recent development. Hey. I'm no expert, but I'd say my stress level has increased significantly as of late. Doesn't stress weaken your immune system? Let's just say that it does, because seriously, under normal conditions I get maybe one cold a year. And I'm not ready to give up my Immune System of Champions quite yet.

On the bright side, we did get approved for a $10k auto loan, so the new car thing might actually become reality one of these days.

Also, Jess came to visit last week, and her stay was much enjoyed. We talked, good-gamed, ate at Donny T's, curled our hairs, talked, made a pig piƱata, celebrated our birthdays, talked, dressed like twinners, Farkled, hiked Sharp Top, and talked. But I'll have to detail last week at a later date; currently I am in the depths of despair (name that reference!) and don't much feel like uploading pictures.

(Plus, I don't know about you, but I find uploading pictures on Blogger to be a loathsome process. I hate doing it, but I can't stand not having pictures so...catch 22.)

Here are a few to tide you over...
