So last Saturday, this is what we woke up to. It snowed all day and it was beautiful. I really hope we get a white Christmas this year. It doesn't happen too often around here, but when it does it's GLORIOUS! This weekend, we got a Christmas tree! A real live Christmas tree, and now our apartment smells of the holiday season and it's wonderful. We barely had enough ornaments to cover the parts that people can see (we didn't decorate the back since it's in a corner), but I think it looks pretty. Even though technically it's not, I'm kind of considering this our first Christmas together. Last year we were in Florida, so we didn't have a tree or any decorations, and we didn't get to use any of the "Our First Christmas" paraphernalia that we got for our wedding. I'll have to put up a picture of the whole room later. For now, enjoy!

It's about time!

Okay, so it's been a while. I guess the main things I missed were our New York Travel Study trip in mid-October, Thanksgiving, and OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY! Pretty exciting.

First off, the NY trip was amazing. It was exciting and fun but unbelievably exhausting. My feet were KILLING me the entire time. We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cloisters, and the Museum of Modern Art. My favorite was definitely the MoMA. I got to see van Gogh's Starry Night in person, which was awesome. We also saw West Side Story on Broadway, and Aida at the Metropolitan Opera House. I don't really feel like posting all the pictures I took (you can see them on Facebook here, here, and here), since I took over 700 of them, but here are a few highlights.

Me in Times Square.

Us with the Bear in Central Park.

APPLE STORE! Coolest place ever for my little Mac self! You got into this cylindrical elevator to descend into the underground store. Sweet.

Christian sketching in one of the courtyards at the Cloisters. Love this picture! Minus the random hand on the right.

A gallery in the MoMA. One of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Christian not understanding modern art.

Me not understanding modern art.

A Starry Night, by Vincent van Gogh. That guard was no joke. And you can tell. Look at his face.

For Thanksgiving we drove down to Florida, Kevin and David in tow, to spend it with Christian's family. It was a lot of fun, food, and family. Christian and I decided to be crazy and go out shopping at five in the morning on Black Friday. We didn't actually buy anything Black-Friday-priced because we couldn't find anything we needed. UNTIL we went to Macy's, that is, because Christian got a new Nautica suit there for $145! Then when we got home we went to the most magical place on earth...Disney World!

Happy about her stickers.

Bro and sis! Love this picture.

Christian and I in the Buzz Lightyear ride. Haha, I cheated and took pictures OF the pictures they took of us. Take that, Disney! Tisney!

Birthday girl!

Good picture of Morgan...not sure why he's smiling like that, I don't think he knew I was taking a picture because the ride was so dark.

Breakin' all the rules.

In front of Cinderella's castle!

Then Sunday was our ANNIVERSARY NUMERO UNO! We celebrated Saturday night by going out to eat at The Cheesecake Factory, to which I'd never been and which was rather expensive but delish. The cheesecakes we got were peanut butter cup and raspberry lemon, and the latter was TO DIE FOR. Holy moly, I looked up recipes when we got home and am planning on making my own any day now. We have some pictures, but they're on Christian's phone, so those will have to come later. On Sunday, our actual anniversary date, we ate our remaining wedding cake, which was surprisingly tasty! This time Christian was not so thoughtful and shoved his piece in my face. How rude. I retaliated.
